Chief Data Officer
With over 30 years of leadership in the travel industry, Darryl Hoover brings deep expertise and visionary thinking to the data transformation space. Having held pivotal roles at Navigant International, Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), and most recently Direct Travel, Darryl has consistently led innovative technology and data initiatives that have reshaped how travel management companies operate and deliver value.
As Chief Data Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Sr. Director of Data and Product Services, Darryl has spearheaded groundbreaking projects including the design and implementation of the first Business Intelligence solution in travel, the integration of over 200 agency acquisitions, and the deployment of enterprise ERP, mid-office, and contact center solutions.
Darryl led the development of AI-driven customer intent management platforms, enabling automation and deflection of service interactions while increasing customer satisfaction. He also delivered a robust data lake architecture to support Spotnana’s TripsAPI, unlocking real-time integration into both Direct Travel’s and ATPI’s ERP platforms, and paving the way for more agile, data-first ecosystems.
His strategic oversight of enterprise security, including achieving SOC2, Type 2 compliance for Direct Travel, and his delivery of a standardized leisure agent billing solution, have driven meaningful gains in operational efficiency and independent contractor productivity.
